Buyer's guide

Best scheduling software for HVAC companies

For a residential HVAC crew that wants a published price, open Jobber and Housecall Pro first. ServiceTrade is the commercial listing, and Rosie only answers the phone.

Field-service tools are listed before phone, fleet, and general apps. Inside a group the order is alphabetical. That is not a score, and nobody paid for a slot. Affiliate disclosure.

How the tools compare

Pros, cons, and the “best for” line come from the directory record. A price appears only when we checked it on the vendor’s site, and those figures are marked as of Oct 2026. Otherwise the cell says see vendor pricing.

Buying advice

Separate the board from the phone

Scheduling software puts the job on a calendar and a tech’s phone. An answering service picks up when nobody can. Buy the board first if the day is still a group text. Add Rosie, or another phone tool, when the missed-call problem is real. The Rosie link is the only affiliate link on this page.

Residential price versus commercial demo

Jobber and Housecall Pro publish a starting price and name residential trades, including HVAC. ServiceTrade’s listing is written for commercial service, including commercial HVAC, and it does not show a dollar amount. mHelpDesk and Service Fusion name HVAC and also do not have a confirmed price here.

Maintenance agreements are a feature question

Service Fusion’s record specifically includes service agreements. Housecall Pro’s record includes a price book and, on higher plans, flat-rate pricing. Ask the vendor how a seasonal tune-up plan is scheduled and billed before you treat a starting price as the whole product.

Questions people ask

What scheduling app should a small HVAC company open first?
Open Jobber and Housecall Pro if you want a published starting price. Both name HVAC. Jobber Core is listed from $29/mo billed annually for 1 user. Housecall Pro Basic is listed at $59/mo billed annually. Confirm user counts on each pricing page.
Is ServiceTrade HVAC scheduling for a residential shop?
ServiceTrade names HVAC, and the editorial note says it is aimed at commercial service, including mechanical contractors. A residential handyman or small residential HVAC shop should look at the smaller tools first.
Which HVAC phone tool on this page is an affiliate link?
Rosie. The Visit button goes to /go/rosie and is marked sponsored and nofollow. The other Visit buttons use the vendor’s public website. A commission does not change Rosie’s price or its place on the list.
